IGNOU Admission 2026 July Session: IGNOU will open its registration portal soon for all the UG, PG, Diploma, and certificate courses for the July session 2026. The admission form will be made available on the IGNOU SAMARTH portal with an application fee of INR 300/- (non-refundable). Before initiating the registration process, new applicants must create their APAAR ID for admission to any IGNOU course.

To be eligible for UG admission, students must pass their 10+2 examination in any stream from a reputed board and have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline for PG admission. Selection to most of the courses will be merit-based, except for BED, Post Basic BSc Nursing (OPPENNET), and PhD programs. IGNOU Admission 2026 July is likely to be commence from 1 April 2026, with the last date to apply being 31 July 2026.

IGNOU UG Admission 2026

IGNOU is expected to commence its UG admission process for the July session 2026. Popular UG courses recognised by the UGC, including BCA, BBA, BA, BLIS, BSC, etc are available in ODL mode. Interested students can register online and pay an application fee of INR 300/-. All the programs are offered for a minimum duration of 3 years and a maximum period of 6 years.

Only those students who have passed their 10+2 examination or equivalent with a minimum 45% to 50% mark will be eligible for UG admission. Selection of the students will be done through merit marks secured in the previous qualifying examination. There is no minimum age limit or entrance exam for any UG program. The course fee will range from INR 4,800/- to INR 20,000/- per year. English and Hindi will be the medium of instruction. 

IGNOU PG Admission 2026

Indira Gandhi National Open University will start its admission process for PG courses from 1st April 2026 for the July session. Interested students can fill out the online registration form for INR 300/- for the desired course. Programs include MBA, MSC, MFA, MSW, MA, MLIS, etc, offered in Open and Distance Learning mode. These courses are approved by the UGC-DEB and are available for a minimum duration of 2 years and a maximum duration of 4 years.

To qualify for PG admission, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent from a recognised university or institution. There will be no entrance exam for any PG course, nor has the university set any upper age limit. PG courses fees vary from INR 7,000/- to INR 20,000/- per year. All the programs will be delivered in Hindi and English

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU Admission 2026 

To get admission to any UG or PG courses, applicants must hold the following qualifications. 

  • Undergraduate Degree Courses: Students must have passed 10+2 with any stream from a recognised educational board. 
  • Postgraduate Degree Course: Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent with a minimum 50% mark (45% for the reserved category) from a UGC approved university. 
  • Diploma/Certificate Courses: For diploma and certificate course admission, applicants must pass their 10+2 or equivalent from a reputed board. These are short-term courses lasting for the duration of 6 months to 1 year. 
  • Entrance Exam: IGNOU conducts entrance tests for only the BED, post BSc nursing, and PhD programmes. 
  • Language: Proficiency in English and Hindi is a must, as most of the course material and classes will be delivered in this medium. 
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age restriction, but for some courses, applicants must be above the age of 18 years old.

IGNOU Admission Process 2026 July Session

Students have to create their APAAR ID before filling out their admission form. All the instructions and guidelines are provided on the official website and the common prospectus. The IGNOU application process will include the following steps: 

Step 1: Go to the IGNOU registration portal

Step 2: Register with your email ID and phone number. 

Step 3: Username and password will be verified through email and SMS. 

Step 4: Log in with your credentials and fill out the admission form. 

Step 5: Upload scanned educational documents along with your signature and photograph. 

Step 6: Review all your data and check for any errors. 

Step 7: Pay the application fee of INR 300/- through credit/debit card or net banking. 

Step 8: A payment confirmation message will be sent via email or SMS. 

Step 9: Preview the form again and click on the submit button. 

Step 10: Download the filled-in application form and keep a copy for reference. 

Documents Required

  • Scanned photograph and signature (less than 100 KB)
  • 10th and 12th marksheet and certificate (less than 200 KB)

IGNOU Fee Structure 2026-27

IGNOU is popularly known for offering programs with an affordable fee structure. The UG course fee ranges from  INR 4,800/- to INR 20,000/- annually, and the PG course fee varies from INR 7,000/- to INR 20,000/- per year. Apart from the course fee, additional fees include one time registration fee of INR 300/-, an examination fee of INR 200/-, and a practical fee of INR 300-500/-. After completing the registration process of IGNOU, interested students can check their application status online. IGNOU Re-Registration 2026 

IGNOU re-registration process for the July session 2026 will open soon. The last date to submit the re-registration form is 31 July 2026. Students have to fill out the form, choose the correct course, and pay a fee of INR 200/- online. Re-registration is applicable for already enrolled students who wish to continue their next semester/year in IGNOU for the chosen program.
